Backups

Create point-in-time backups of your volumes and restore them when you need to recover data or seed a new deployment.

Create a backup

You can start a backup from several places:

  • Backups (/backups) — use Create Backup in the header and pick a volume (search helps when you have many volumes).
  • Storage — open the row actions for a volume and choose Backup. This is available when the volume is in an eligible state (for example available).
  • Deployments — row action Backup opens the same create flow for a volume on that deployment. If the deployment has no volumes yet, backup is not offered.
  • Dashboard — a Create Backup quick action, if shown, uses the same picker as the Backups page.

Enter a name for the backup and confirm. The new backup appears on the Backups list.

Restore

On the Backups page, use the restore action on a backup you trust. The dashboard walks you through the restore flow (for example choosing target details where the product requires them). Restoring overwrites data on the target—plan a backup first if you are unsure.

You can also attach a backup when creating a deployment, so the new instance starts from restored data instead of an empty disk.

Retention and cleanup

Each backup row shows retention and status. Delete backups you no longer need from the Backups list when your organisation policy allows it.
